TAPE, as a non-profit, volunteerbased venue, has shut it’s doors for the final time. This happened at the end of January 2021.
In the start of 2021, Aarhus lost an engaged community, built around supporting new music and art.
The lack of a willingness from Aarhus Kommune, to find a long reaching solution to issues, was a strong factor in the decision.
However, in the ashes of TAPE, dear friends have established a new venue on the premises, with the same ambitions and more.

TAPE was a venue intent on pushing the bar in regards to how a cultural institution representing artistic content could be organised.
The ambition from day one, was to take the experimental and underrepresented art forms seriously and thereby prove that it is indeed possible,
to establish far-reaching and very active communities based on this type of cultural activity.
The communities within the experimental art and music have been a key part of defining and redefining TAPE.
Thereby TAPE has been a crucial meeting point for ambitious young people, who have then contributed hugely to the experimental parts of the ecosystem of music and the arts.
